Durban ICC voted “Africa’s Best Convention Centre” at the World MICE Awards

The World Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) Awards – the global initiative to celebrate and reward excellence in MICE tourism – has announced the winners of its 2020 programme.

The Durban International Convention Centre (Durban ICC) emerged as one of the big winners by taking top honours in two categories at the awards ceremony, winning the titles for “Africa’s Best Convention Centre 2020” and “South Africa’s Best Convention Centre 2020”.

The annual awards programme aims to drive up standards within the MICE industry by rewarding the organisations that are leaders in their field. It was developed in reaction to overwhelming demand from the MICE sector for a programme that was fair and transparent; a programme with a mission to serve as the definitive benchmark of excellence, and help to foster a new era of growth, innovations and best practice on a global scale.

Throughout the year votes have been cast by leading MICE industry professionals worldwide, as well as MICE consumers, in more than 100 countries. The formal announcement of the winners was made on 12th November 2020.
