All Systems Go for the ITU Telecom World 2018
Developing knowledge and skills through digital innovation in order to grow and transform the local economy will be high on the agenda during the ITU Telecom World 2018 taking place at the Durban International Convention Centre (Durban ICC) from 10-13 September 2018.
The conference themed: “Innovation for smarter digital development”, provides a strategic platform for facilitating interaction among powerful heads of state, captains of industry, tech SMEs, policy makers, investors, corporates and digital innovators who will be discussing interventions aimed at accelerating ICT innovations that will enhance social and economic development.
Approximately 8000 delegates are expected to attend the four day conference which will feature an international exhibition of tech solutions and projects, a world-class forum of interactive, expert-led debates on key issues facing the ICT industry, a networking programme connecting organisations, individuals and ideas, and an acclaimed Awards programme recognising innovative ICT-based solutions with real social impact.
The overarching top three objectives of the ITU Telecom World 2018 are gaining knowledge, business networking and exposure to new technologies.

Rakharebe added that the South African government and City of Durban has identified innovation as one of the key drivers of local economic development and job creation.
