Spreading Festive Cheer at Makabongwe Pre-School

The Durban International Convention Centre, in affiliation with Shosholoza Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration came together to spread some happiness this festive season at the Makabongwe Methodist Pre-School.

On the 29th November the Durban ICC staff, Executive Management and Management from Shosholoza Air-Conditioning took time off from their schedules to visit the school and deliver a number wall mounted fans to help cool the classrooms sponsored by Shosholoza.The Durban ICC organised a party to celebrate the occasion, complete with hotdogs, cupcakes and goodie bags for the staff and little ones. and provided for all the children and staff.

Commenting on the initiative, Cyril Macquet-Maurel from Shosoloza said, “We at Shosholoza were delighted to be given the opportunity to assist Makabongwe Pre-School with their need for fans for the ventilation in the classrooms. We as a company are proud to be associated with a school that plays such a special and important role in each of the children’s lives that attend the school”.

Theresa Lukan, the principal of the school expressed her gratitude, saying “It was wonderful to meet some new Durban ICC staff and to celebrate briefly with you some of our concert items as well as the super delicious hot dogs, juice and, as for the cupcakes, oh my gosh! They were simply scrumptious. We are so excited about our extractor fans and really hope they do what Cyril thinks they will to cool down our cabin classrooms and shed. Thank you for your incredible kindness, generosity and care for our children. Today was a very happy day at Makabongwe.”

“As the Durban ICC, we are proud to join one of our key service providers in giving a little back to our community. We are happy we could make a difference at the Makabongwe Pre-School and we hope to inspire to give a little more this festive season”, concluded Durban ICC CEO, Lindiwe Rakharebe.
