Durban ICC hosts “Proudly KZN Photographic Exhibition”

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Arts and Culture’s photographic exhibition entitled “Proudly KZN” was showcased at the Durban ICC during September and October 2016. The collection of images is a reflection some of the arts and culture found in the province. This includes the Griqua, Batlokwa, Tonga, Bharatanatyam, pottery works of the Nala sisters, Thembi Mtshali, Elijah ‘Tap-Tap’ Makhathini, Joseph Shabalala, Lliane Loots and Zibokwakhe ‘Phuzekhemisi’ Mnyandu.

Zululand, Umzinyathi, Umkhanyakude, Umgungundlovu, Ugu and Harry Gwala Districts were profiled.

The exhibition looked to capture culture, tradition, artistic genres as well as the preservation of heritage that is unique to this province. It celebrated what KZN has to offer while educating communities about the rich heritage the province possesses.
